Description:

This clinical guideline was developed as part of a demonstration project in Quality Assurance. The clinical guideline describes the clinical and organizational aspects of health care delivery in the system of care for patients with Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (PIH). It is important to point out that the experience of the authors shows that the development of clinical guidelines on its own does not necessarily lead to improved quality. The entire process of quality improvement allows the guidelines to be developed as well as implemented and tested for improvement. The authors recommend that in applying the clinical guidelines, special attention be paid to issues of adaptation, communication, and implementation in order to increase the chances of successful implementation of the critical guidelines in everyday practice.
